I'm a slacker! I apologize for not putting more information on the site. The truth is that we've had a few bumps in the road. Unfortunately, we did not make our sales quote necessary to stay on BeatPort. With them controlling over %75 of the market share for our type of music, we kind of lost the wind in our sails. I hope to revitalize this in 2010 with some new artists and with the growth of emerging online retailers that can compete with the Behemoth of Beatport. Thank you all for your support thusfar and I promise we aren't going anywhere soon!

Spring is here people! We are still going strong and making stellar music. IQ Sounds has added a few new faces to the roster and we're pumping out drum n bass and house/trance now. We've got a slew of new releases out on BeatPort, i-Tunes, and everywhere else. Thanks to everyone for supporting our dreams and please continue to do so!

So we have been a bit slacking in updating this news feed, but for the love of all things breakbeat we have been pumping out a boat load of tunes! You can hit up your favorite retailer to see our latest work. We've had several releases top BeatPort's top 100 in breaks and two of them go top 50. Our artists are releasing some really impressive music. We added a new female vocalist/rapper named Liska (check her out on the artists page) and she has collaborated on two smash hits that are currently available.
IQ Sounds will be at the 2009 Ultra Music Festival! Our distributor is going to hand out some promotional stuff, and I (Lucas) will personally be at Ultra all day Friday and Saturday. If you plan on coming to Ultra, we'd love to meet up and take a photo, etc. Send us an email if you plan on being in Miami during that time (end of March). IQ Sounds continues to release bi-monthly to our distributor, who in turn puts those tracks up on Beatport, I-Tunes, etc. Many, many thanks to all of you who continue to purchase our material. Our artists continue to create excellent pieces of music and their creativity and complexity seems to increase all of the time. We've put out our first remix EP and I hope to start gathering material for a cd soon. We're also looking into a few female vocalists so keep your fingers crossed!
Secondly, Sir Estafon decided to leave IQ Sounds. Steve is doing all sorts of cool experimenting with his style and the types of music he wants to make. It was in both parties best interest that he focus more on his new ventures and let us continue to release Electronica. We encourage all of you to continue to follow Steve's progress via his website, and wish him nothing but success in his musical journey.
Make sure you subscribe to our podcast as we're putting out new mixes all of the time. Add the IQS feed and Lucas' feed to your reader (you can even use them in I-Tunes! Thanks again for all the love and we have some gems coming up for the holiday season =)

So these players are really becoming popular! This is a quick update to give you the code to our new Juno Player that will automatically stay current with our new releases from Juno. Use this one the same way that you use the BeatPort player below. Thanks for your help in spreading some IQS love!!!!

We've got two announcements for this update and we'll start with the good news: We now have a beatport player that you can embed into your myspace, facebook, or other html-enabled website. This will allow you a quick way to reference our material on beatport which is one of the more popular electronic music stores on the web. Also, in other news, Mike (dj Phrenic) has decided to leave IQ Sounds. Phrenic has decided to take a new direction in his life and while he'll still be involved in music, it won't necessarily be EDM and he wishes to shed the image that was associated with his former moniker. We wish Mike all the best in his future endeavors and he will be missed!

Summer is about half-way over and we are still cruising along. Our distributor has been really good to us and as a result you can now get IQ Sounds music just about anywhere on the web! It is really great to see all of the support and love we've been getting from all over the world. Lucas and Matt Harder have recently had songs in the top 50 of beatport's breakbeat chart and all of our music is moving much better than it was 6 months ago.
I'm hoping to plan a fall/winter exclusive digital cd release but nothing has been started yet. Our guys are continuing to pump out some solid hits. You can check us out on Beatport via this link. Bookmark that site and check it often as we are releasing new music almost weekly!

Wow! It is silly to think that we are entering our 6th month of 2008 already! I'm happy to report that things at IQ Sounds continue to progress nicely. We are on pace to have our best selling month ever from Juno and our artists are now making frequent appearances in the top 100 downloads across multiple sites. Some of our guys have also been reviewed in the featured tracks sections, and all in all the support for our material is very strong.
I'm hoping to put together another cd later this year, this time releasing it only in digital format. I'm also planning on making some stickers and print material to be able to hand out to the fans. We now have almost 100 releases with new being added weekly. Our artists are really jammin! Keep it tuned and keep up with the blog for all of the latest free mixes....

An extremely exciting time is here for our label! I just wanted to let everyone know that our material is on Beatport! For those of you who may not follow the Electronic Music Scene, BeatPort is the industry leader in dance music mp3s online. They are the premiere venue for exposure for any record label looking to grow. Thanks to our partnership with Symphonic Distribution, our first track is on BP today! More tracks will slowly be populating and we have plenty to release! This is an extremely big day for us as we transform from a small, obscure label to one with global exposure

Spring is here! What's up everyone? I hope that this update finds you all well. We've been extremely busy at IQ Sounds and have many things to share! First off, we decided to temporarily turn off our store. The reason is very common: Our store was not generating the kind of traffic that we enjoy from our affiliate stores. It requires a good amount of maintenance to keep it going, and that time can be spent doing other more relevant things for the label. When we get to the point that our material can be sold exclusively through our store, we'll fire it back up. For now, please enjoy our material through our affiliates.
There is a new demo posted on our promos page, and we are also in talks about finally getting our material listed on some music sites that we haven't been able to. Wish us luck!
IQS has also expanded our roster yet again with the addition of Matt Harder. Matt creates a very solid blend of house and breakbeats, and has been releasing music on our site for a while now. He finally joined the team and has already dropped a solid entry track. Check him out on our artists page!

Happy New Year! We hope you all had a safe and wonderful celebration and you have big goals for 2008. IQ Sounds had a wonderful 2007 and we are positioning ourselves to do even more this year. To start, we just added another artist! Please welcome dj Cipster to the roster. You can find all of his info on our artist page, and his first release is already up in our store! We also released our first ever label CD!! This is a 10 track cd that features tunes from Oragami, Motion, Lucas, and Sir Estafon. Click HERE to see it in our store. It's been two months since the last update, but we are still at it! We added over a dozen new tunes since the last update here, and our artists are continually pushing their own personal limits to produce the best electronic music available. Take a listen to the material at the IQS store and you'll see exactly what we've been doing.
Our first cd is moving along nicely. The artwork has been assigned, and we should have a physical product ready before Christmas. This is a great milestone for us, and having something tangible is always a great promotional tool. This cd will be pressed in a limited run, so make sure you grab yours as soon as it comes out. Watch this space and make sure you are keeping up with our podcast feed!
We'll have an end of the year wrap up, but until then thank you for your support of IQS and helping our dreams continue to come true.

We're a busy bunch here, cranking out new tracks like crazy and adding artists! We actually added this guy a while back but I realized that we forgot to mention it in September's update. His dj name is Oragami, and he produces a hybrid of electro and funky breaks. Occassionally he'll drop a progressive gem on us as well. Check out his tracks HERE and be sure to grab a few...he's getting better with each release.
We finished up our first full month of being on the market and did pretty well. For word of mouth and a few websites, we manged to sell an admirable amount of music. It is very gratifying to all of us that you are out there buying IQ Sounds Material. Thank you!
Be on the lookout for more fresh music and free mixes coming up in October..and we are still looking to do a winter cd release featuring all sorts of stuff!

Lots of new things to talk about! First off, as you may notice the news updates have slowed down. That is not because we aren't busy; it is because we're going to try and reduce the amount of posts on this page so it doesn't become too much. Here is what we've done in August:
- Our material is now listed on juno records (huge record store out of the UK) and Dance Records (huge online store out of California)
- Lucas and Motion have both added new releases to the iq store. Click HERE to visit the store and check out the new content.
- We changed the previews on the store from full length, low quality clips to shorter, high-quality samples. This is in line with other sites and gives the listener more time to preview tracks.
- We added a new free demo to the downloads section. Go and slap that baby on your iPod!
I'm sure that I'm leaving out more, but we are a busy bunch and things keep looking up! We will be adding another new artist within the next few days so check back soon! Thank you to everyone for your encouragement of IQ Sounds!

Today we added a new track by Lucas to the store called "Heliosphere". This is a really smooth breaks track that features a lot of ambient and dark atmospheric layers. Today we release "The Great Alignment" which is another 9 minute journey through electro breaks and ambient synths. This track features loads of electro feel and some very spacey pads and synths. Time flies when you are having fun! It has been a few weeks, but we've still managed to release a new track today called 'Cryosleep'. This tune features a very thick breakbeat with plenty of panning noises to keep your mind stimulated. Today is a really cool day for IQ Sounds. I just finished a track with my father called "Lions Falls". The name of the track refers to a place where we have hiked many times together in Ohio. Lions Falls is a waterfall in the Mohican National Forest just north of Mt Vernon. All of the guitar that you hear on this track is originally produced by my dad. Things are moving along wonderfully! Lucas' first cd Electrogressive has been pressed and is just about ready to be released. We are just waiting for the artwork to be completed and then it will be up for sale. Our online store is installed and is currently being configured. We should also have business cards within the next 2-4 weeks. It is great to see the progress being made on the site. Thanks to Will for all of his help on the technical side of things.

Imagine you just took a dive into a black hole and you are being pulled through the wormhole to another place and time....There ya go!
